Digital Skills

This 5 week course offers one x 1 hour class per week and is designed to offer technology classes for those who struggle with the ever demanding world of computers to help bridge the digital divide.

This course will highlight the importance of digital literacy and encourage & support individuals of all ages in developing these skills. By working to bridge this divide Login IT Training aims to empower all individuals to recognise the value and importance of digital skills, therefore creating a more inclusive and connected society for everyone.

There are still many older individuals who struggle with technology and feel left behind. Ultimately, technology has the power to connect us and enrich our lives, regardless of age. 

 

Candidates will learn to navigate and work with Computers, Tablets and/or Smartphones.

You will be able to:

  • Use an email account - Send, Receive, Attach Files and Images 
  • Navigate the Internet and use certain websites.
  • Learn to book items online such as train tickets, concert/show tickets and use online shopping such as food, clothing etc.
  • Source information such as Local Property Tax, Citizens Information, Local News Platforms etc.
  • Use Entertainment Sites such as RTE News, RTE Player and YouTube for DIY and Cooking videos, etc
  • Communicate with family and friends from the comfort of your own home using WhatsApp, Facetime, Zoom Calls etc.

 

Additional topics can be covered during the course on request.

Once you have completed this Digital Skills course, you will feel more confident in your abilities and in turn give yourself a sense of independence on finding and using the internet.  You will learn the tools to feel more inclusive in todays IT and Digital world.
